Don’t wipe off the chalk, just move the car so the chalk mark is up in the wheel well or at the bottom of the tire. They have a specific place where they put the mark, and don’t like people who wipe off the chalk.
You’re only ticketed for staying in one spot for two hours.
However, note that they don’t always use chalk; they’re getting very high tech these days, and just note your license number in their hand held.

You can move your car a few spaces down the block long as your not in the same parking spot for more than two hours your fine.

I used to do this all the time when in school. Just wipe of the chalk and you are good.
